6 Ways to Prep Your Backyard for Summer

Summer is around the corner and that means, it’s time to give your backyard some long overdue TLC. Confused about where to start? Don’t worry, we got you covered with our six ways to prep your backyard for summer!

Clean Up
This goes without saying but should still always be priority number one. After a very long year, your backyard might have been neglected from the decrease in use, so cleaning up may be the best place to start. Mow the lawn, trim the bushes, power wash the patio, whatever needs attending to, do it. We still have a couple of weeks before Summer so if you plan accordingly, it shouldn’t take you too long.

Upgrade Your Furniture
Has it been a while since you bought new outdoor furniture? Now might be the time to start shopping around for a new backyard set. You don’t have to upgrade your whole set, another option may be to purchase additional furniture pieces like end tables or solo chairs to add more seating. Go outside and visualize, think if your current setup is what you want for this summer.

Outdoor Planters
You can never go wrong with outdoor planters. They are gorgeous complementary pieces that can tie the whole backyard together. Take a trip to Lowes or Home Depot, they have fantastic options for outdoor planters.

Lighting & Warmth
Want to get the most out of your backyard? Consider buying additional lighting so you can enjoy it from dusk till dawn. It can be as easy as purchasing solar lights and placing them around the yard or you can go a step above and hang professional lights. In addition to lighting, you should also think about installing or placing an outdoor heater to keep you and your family warm throughout the night.

Grill/Barbeque
Burgers and Hot Dogs are the staple of a summer barbeque. Purchasing or upgrading your grill may be an option you should consider. Every year new grills are released so if your current grill has seen some days, there’s nothing wrong with spoiling yourself and upgrading.

Fire Pit
A fire pit can make your time in your backyard both enjoyable and comfortable. It can be used as a source of heat and a the perfect place to cook S'mores!
